How StaffVoice works
Speak freely. Raise issues without saying who you are.
StaffVoice is a safe and anonymous tool for improving your workplace, not for venting frustration. It gives staff a safe way to raise issues with the people who lead their organisation, without ever putting their name to it. Leadership gets an honest picture of what is really going on. Staff get to say the thing they would otherwise keep to themselves. StaffVoice works best when issues are raised constructively: describe the problem clearly, and suggest how things could move forward.
Any member of staff can start using StaffVoice on their own. Your organisation does not need to sign up first, and nobody has to give you permission. If you have something to raise, you can raise it today.
This page explains the problem StaffVoice solves, how it works, and exactly how your anonymity is protected. If you lead an organisation and want to know more, there is a short form near the bottom.
Why is it so hard to give honest feedback at work?
Almost everyone has something they would tell their leadership if they could do it safely. Maybe a process is quietly falling apart, or there is a pattern of behaviour that nobody wants to name, or a workload problem that everyone feels but nobody puts in writing. These things remain unsaid because saying something difficult at work carries a real personal risk.
Most of the usual options do not quite work. Staff surveys promise to be anonymous, but in a small team an answer can often be traced back from a few small details. Raising something through the normal channels is harder still when the issue sits close to the people you would have to report it to. People stay quiet, and leadership ends up running things with a blind spot they cannot see into.
That silence is expensive. When people cannot raise things safely, small problems grow into resignations, lost productivity, and the slow erosion of trust between staff and the people who lead them. Replacing someone who leaves costs far more than keeping them would have. Good people who feel unheard tend to stop trying, or simply go. The issues that quietly drag down morale, output, and ultimately revenue are usually the very ones nobody felt safe enough to mention.
StaffVoice turns that around. By giving people a safe way to speak up, it surfaces problems while they are still small and easy to fix, well before they harden into something costly. Staff feel heard, which is one of the strongest drivers of satisfaction and retention there is. Leadership gets an honest, early view of what is really happening and the chance to act on it. The result is stronger relationships, a more productive workplace, and fewer of the expensive surprises that come from finding out too late. The information leadership needs most is the information least likely to reach it, and this is how it gets through.
How does StaffVoice work?
StaffVoice gives staff a direct, anonymous line to their leadership. It takes four steps.
A member of staff writes their issue.
They say what is happening and, if they want, suggest what would help. There is no account to set up and no profile to fill in.
They confirm they work there using a work email.
This is a quick one-off check that keeps feedback genuine and tied to real staff. The email only sends a single verification link, and it is never stored with the submission. There is more on how that works below.
The issue reaches leadership with no name attached.
Leadership sees what was raised. They do not see who raised it, and there is no way for them to find out or respond.
Leadership reads it and acts.
They can see what staff are saying and deal with it. What they cannot do is reply to anyone through StaffVoice. The channel only runs one way, and nothing ever comes back to your inbox. That is not a missing feature. It is the entire point. With no reply, there is no thread, no arguments, and no way for a message to lead back to you.
StaffVoice is for everyday issues, not emergencies.
If something needs a formal response, such as a crime, a risk to someone's safety, or a matter for HR or a grievance procedure, please use the proper channel for that in your organisation so it can be followed up with you directly. Because StaffVoice is anonymous and one-way, nobody can come back to you about what you send here.
How is my anonymity actually guaranteed?
The technical bit. Here is how it works.
Your name is never attached to what you send.
Submissions are stored with no link to any person. There is no user account, no ID, and no hidden field tying your words to you. Even with full access to the database, there is nothing to connect, because that connection is never made in the first place.
Your work email is used once, then it is gone.
When you confirm you work there, your email is used to send one verification link and nothing more. It is not saved with your submission, and the record of that check is deleted the moment it is done. Nothing is kept that could point back to you later.
Feedback only travels one way.
StaffVoice carries your issue to leadership, and nothing comes back the other way. No reply, no message thread, no trail leading to your inbox. Leadership can act on what you raise, but they cannot write back to you through StaffVoice, because the channel does not run in that direction. The silence is part of what keeps you safe.
Even StaffVoice cannot read what you write.
The tool is built so that the StaffVoice team cannot see the content of your submissions. Running the service and reading submissions are kept apart on purpose, in the same way a messaging app can run the network without reading the messages. Your words are for your leadership, not for us.
These are not promises bolted onto an ordinary database. They are built into how the system stores data, so that staying anonymous is the only thing the design will allow.
Who is StaffVoice for?
StaffVoice is for any organisation where the people doing the work know things their leadership needs to hear.
Staff and teams
who want a safe way to raise issues, suggest changes, or flag something that is going wrong, without fear of being singled out.
Leadership and management
who want an honest view of what is happening across their organisation, and a clear way to spot and deal with problems before they grow.
Organisations of every kind
including education, healthcare, and business. The tool works the same way for all of them. The need to hear from staff safely is everywhere.
